”Sköna maj, välkommen, våra lekars vän!” – this is how one of the most popular spring songs begin. The text to the song is written by Finlands national poet Johan Ludvig Runeberg and the music by Lars Magnus Béen from Sweden. The song represents much of what we want to achieve with the project Nordic Vocals United. Nordic Vocals United is a project where Chorus Nota Bene from Switzerland intends to establish exchanges with choirs from the Nordic countries and where we can sing together and learn from each other.

2023 we travel to Finland and Nota Bene has the great honour to perfrome in two concerts together with the Cecilia choir, which this years has its 70-year anniversary and with the chamber choir Bel Canto, which is representing the strong Ostrobothnian choir tradition since more than 30 years.

Except for that the choirs perform songs from Finland, Scandinavia and Switzerland we are also very pleased to sing two songs that have been commissioned for the trip. The first song is written by Andrea Eklund to the text of Edith Södergran's poem: "Nordisk vår - Nordic Spring" and the second "Förenade i sång" is composed by Bertil Lindén to the text of Lena Victoria, both from Nota Bene.
